It was a pleasure to collaborate once again with the Sixteen Films team on this remarkable, multi-award-winning film directed by Laura Carreira. The mood in On Falling, especially concerning costume design, conveys stillness and subtlety. This film presents a realistic and thought-provoking portrayal of the modern-day struggles faced by migrants working in the UK, highlighting the isolation and poverty they endure in their daily lives. The costume design is monochromatic, focusing on texture and tone in Aurora’s world until she steps outside her routine to explore life beyond her flat and workplace. At that point, colours and patterns become more prominent in both costume and production design. On Falling was released in early 2025.
